The Public Sector Accountancy and Audit Academy (PSAAA), established in 2020, is set to increase the knowledge, skills and abilities of public sector accounting and auditing professionals and to capacitate the public sector to ensure accountability in the prudent management of public financial resources.

Frequently asked Questions
The RGA Professional Training Programme is a professional development programme for the qualifying exams of the RGA designation. It consists of nine Modules which are spread over three blocks (April, May and July). Candidates who successfully complete the RGA Professional Training Programme, are eligible to register for the RGA Qualifying Examination (RGA-QE).
The programme registration for first semester starts from 1 November of each year and closes at the end of January, while the second semester registration starts from 1 February of each year to end of May.
The first semester assessments are schedule each year during May/June and second semester in Oct/Nov. The GASP assessments comprise of 3 Papers and for a candidate to be successful, a minimum of 50% is required on each Paper.
Candidates are required to meet the following entry criteria prior to being registered into the RGA Professional Training Programme:
- Commerce Degree or equivalent qualification at NQF level 7 (previously NQF6) obtained from a tertiary institution registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training in South Africa.
- The following knowledge fields are required as courses in the undergraduate degree/advanced diploma:
- Financial Accounting (at final year undergraduate level).
- Management Accounting/Financial Management
- Taxation
- Commercial/Corporate Law
Short course are offered on a monthly basis and are different per month. The updated short list course is posted on all our social media pages monthly with the dates. There has to be a minimum of 15 candidates for short courses to commerce.
